WWE Confirm Survivor Series 2021 Main Event

The battle for brand supremacy returns

WWE have revealed that this year's Survivor Series pay-per-view will once again focus on the theme of 'brand supremacy', with the main event pitting SmackDown's Universal Champion against Raw's WWE Champion.

Since the re-established brand split in 2016, WWE's annual November event has been based around the battle to determine the dominant brand in WWE, pitting Monday Night Raw against Friday Night SmackDown.

During the opening segment for the October 11 Raw, WWE revealed that Survivor Series 2021 would follow the same theme, with the show's main event putting the two brand's respective top champions up against each other.

At current standing, that match will see SmackDown's Roman Reigns go one-on-one with WWE Champion Big E. The Tribal Chief faced Drew McIntyre in the main event of last year's show too in a match with the same stipulation.

WWE have booked major Title changes in the past in the weeks ahead of Survivor Series to accommodate the main event. McIntyre defeated Randy Orton for the WWE Title on Raw just a week prior to Survivor Series 2020, while AJ Styles beat Jinder Mahal for the same Championship on SmackDown ahead of Survivor Series 2017.
