WWE Day 1 To Return In 2023

The event returns to Atlanta

WWE will bring its second annual Day 1 pay-per-view to State Farm Arena in Atlanta, based on information from the venue's website.

The State Farm Arena page lists the 2023 Day 1 as taking place on Sunday, January 1 at the Atlanta venue. Tuesday, August 23 is listed as the on-sale date.

WWE has not officially announced the event or location as of yet.

If the date holds, it would mark WWE's first Sunday pay-per-view since Hell in a Cell on June 5. WWE's pay-per-view slate for the remainder of 2022 is exclusive to Saturdays.

WWE drew a reported 13,657 fans to State Farm Arena on New Year's Day 2022 for the first-ever Day 1 pay-per-view.

In the main event of that card, Brock Lesnar won the WWE title in a five-way, one fall bout over defending champion Big E, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Lashley. Lesnar was originally supposed to face Universal champion Roman Reigns in the main event, but Reigns had to bow out of the pay-per-view due to testing positive for COVID.
