Royal Rumble could be the latest WWE pay-per-view to expand to two nights, although it seemingly wouldn't be in 2027.
It has been announced that Royal Rumble 2027 will emanate from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona - the home of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals and the Fiesta Bowl. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported that WWE "seriously considered" expanding the Royal Rumble to two nights, with some inside WWE believing that change would come into effect for 2027.
As of the time of writing, though, the expectation within WWE is the Royal Rumble will remain one night for 2027, but it could be the final time the pay-per-view will be just a one-night show. WrestleVotes has noted there is significant interest within WWE to eventually turn the Royal Rumble into a multi-night event.
WWE already hold two Royal Rumble matches at the one-night pay-per-view, so it may end up being a case of the company holding one Rumble match on each night.
WWE have already expanded a couple of their pay-per-views to two nights. WrestleMania has been a two-night event since 2020's WrestleMania 36, while SummerSlam has been held over two nights since 2025.
