WWE King Of The Ring, Queen's Crown Tournament Updates Following 10/8 SmackDown

Who advanced?

Four wrestlers advanced in the SmackDown half of the King of the Ring and Queen's Crown tournaments on Friday night in San Jose, setting up the respective semi-final matches for one week from now.

In the King of the Ring quarterfinals, Sami Zayn defeated Rey Mysterio in a ten minute bout. Dominik Mysterio inadvertently distracted his father while attempting to reapply a turnbuckle pad that Zayn ripped off. During the distraction, Zayn knocked Mysterio into his son, then rolled Rey up for the win.

Finn Balor won the other quarterfinal match, defeating Cesaro in a near ten minute match. Balor won following a shotgun dropkick, then his Coup de Grace.

In the Queen's Crown opening round, Zelina Vega defeated Toni Storm in a match that went two minutes. For the finish, Storm attempted a backslide, only for Vega to counter with Code Red.

Carmella defeated Liv Morgan in the other quarterfinal in about 90 seconds. Morgan failed to hit Oblivion, and was pinned following a superkick.

Balor will face Zayn next week on SmackDown, while Carmella takes on Vega.

This Monday on Raw, in Queen's Crown action, Doudrop takes on Natalya, while Dana Brooke takes on Shayna Baszler. For the King of the Ring, Kofi Kingston battles Jinder Mahal, while Xavier Woods takes on Ricochet.
