WWE are making changes to their commentary teams to start 2024.

The company carried out a shake-up of the announce teams in August 2023 that saw Michael Cole pull double duty, working with Wade Barrett on Monday Night Raw and alongside both Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick on Friday Night SmackDown. One of the reasons for the shake-up at the time was to continue Kevin Patrick's development as a commentator alongside Michael Cole.

Michael Cole's latest stint on Friday Night SmackDown has come to an end once again, though. Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that the announce teams will become two-man booths once again, ending Michael Cole's time on SmackDown in December 2023. Michael Cole was present on the January 1 edition of Monday Night Raw alongside Wade Barrett, which suggests the SmackDown commentary team will be Kevin Patrick on play-by-play and Corey Graves as the colour commentator moving forward.

The NXT commentary team is already a two-man booth of Vic Joseph and Booker T. The current arrangement has been in place since October of 2022 and they have become a popular duo at the WWE Performance Center TV tapings.
