WWE Makes Change To Gunther's Name

GUNTHER, not Gunther

WWE have made another change to Gunther's in-ring name.

Der Ring General's name has not been switched back to WALTER but WWE have now capitalised the Intercontinental Champion's moniker, modifying it to GUNTHER.

The name has not been changed on GUNTHER's official WWE profile but the promotion for the Six-Man Tag Team Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match on WWE.com has the Imperium leader's name capitalised. GUNTHER will team with Imperium stablemates Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci to take on The Brawling Brutes of Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch at Extreme Rules.

GUNTHER's former ring name WALTER was capitalised before it was changed to Gunther in January 2022 after he moved to the United States full-time.

GUNTHER was initially featured on NXT but he moved to the main roster following WrestleMania 38. He has since been booked as a star on SmackDown and has been Intercontinental Champion for 112 days.
