WWE NXT's Blake Monroe Revealed To Share Name With Adult Film Performer

The former Mariah May's new WWE in-ring name was revealed on Tuesday night's edition of NXT, with a Sabrina Carpenter-inspired vignette confirming the former AEW Women's World Champion will be known as Blake Monroe going forwards.

The former Mariah May's new first name is a tribute to her niece Blake, who has appeared on May's vlog in the past. Monroe, meanwhile, is inspired by iconic Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe, with the new WWE NXT star's 'The Glamour' gimmick and run in AEW being heavily inspired by the golden age of Hollywood.

WWE may not have used Google before approving Mariah May's new name, however, as it has been revealed Blake Monroe is also the name of a former adult film star. The name Blake Monroe is also shared by an award-winning burlesque dancer.

WWE NXT's Blake Monroe signed with the company in early June following the expiry of her contract with All Elite Wrestling. Monroe has also signed with Paradigm Talent Agency to represent her when pursuing movie and TV roles, as well as for overall branding.
