WWE Officials Reportedly Feel The Door Is Open For Bryan Danielson Return

Danielson left WWE in April & signed with AEW in September

WWE reportedly believe that there is the potential for a return to the company for Bryan Danielson in the future.

Danielson - known as Daniel Bryan during his time in WWE - departed the promotion following the expiration of his contract in April earlier this year and took a short hiatus from wrestling before signing with AEW, making his debut at All Out in September.

Fightful Select are reporting more details about Danielson's final few months with WWE and it is noted that higher ups in the company were aware his contract was coming to an end when the decision was made to put Danielson in the main-event of WrestleMania 37; an addition that is described as 'an audible' and was not the original plan at the time of the Royal Rumble.

Edge would win the 2021 Royal Rumble and the report goes on to say that there was never any real consideration to Bryan actually winning the match.

Danielson, according to the report, has received a lot of praise from WWE officials for the way he did business as he left the promotion, notably for his work with Roman Reigns in the final few weeks of his deal.

One source even noted that Danielson handled everything so well around that time that many didn't actually think he was leaving the company. The American Dragon departed WWE on 'very good terms', so much so that it is believed the door is open for a potential return to the company down the line.
