WWE Pitch To Parody Adult Content Website Revealed

A WWE pitch was made in 2023 for WWE to parody adult content.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus teamed together in the early months of 2023 as the Banger Bros, picking up wins over the likes of Imperium, Hit Row, and the Viking Raiders. They also unsuccessfully challenged The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles.

Banger Bros ultimately shares a close resemblance to the adult content site Bang Bros, which is something not all WWE higher-ups were aware of. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were clearly aware, however, as McIntyre pitched to air light-hearted skits which would have poked fun at the adult film site, Fightful Select has reported.

One pitch would have seen McIntyre and Sheamus pick up Alpha Academy following car issues. This would have led to a disagreement and a brawl, with everyone in Alpha Academy being kicked off the van except for Maxxine Dupri.

Following the pitch, the Banger Bros was immediately scrapped and references to the name disappeared from WWE programming. Sheamus and Drew McIntyre have remained friendly on WWE TV, just without mentioning their time as the Banger Bros.

There was also an independent wrestling tag team known as The Bang Bros of August Matthews and Davey Bang from August 2019 until November 2023. The team stopped using the name after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Bang Bros, and they are now known as Bang & Matthews.
