WWE Planning To Push Dragon Lee

The SmackDown star is viewed as 'the next Rey Mysterio'.

WWE star Dragon Lee is set to receive a push.

Speaking about the luchador during a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE have been high on Lee since he signed with them and fast-tracked him from NXT to the main roster.

In addition, there are plans for Lee to do something with Rey Mysterio in the near future.

"Dragon Lee's in a program that's coming up that's designed for him to become...essentially something with Rey. Well, not against, not against Rey. The idea is for Rey to endorse this guy as the future," Meltzer said.

Mysterio is currently on the injured list and has been written off television after undergoing knee surgery. The WWE Hall of Famer will be out of action for the next couple of months.

The LWO's storyline with Santos Escobar is set to continue in his absence, with a recent report noting that NXT talent could be called up to be a part of it.

Dragon Lee picked up another victory on this past Friday's episode of SmackDown, defeating Axiom in a competitive match. Lee originally wanted a match with Santos Escobar but that was rejected by SmackDown GM Nick Aldis.
