WWE Raw Expected To Heavily Promote NXT For Head-To-Head Show With AEW Dynamite

WWE expected to heavily push NXT on Raw

WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite are set to go head-to-head on Tuesday, October 10 due to Dynamite being preempted by TBS's coverage of the Major League Baseball Playoffs.

Both companies are looking to score the ratings win over their competition. AEW Dynamite will be a special 'Title Tuesday' edition of the show and the episode will feature the in-ring debut of Adam Copeland, Bryan Danielson vs. Swerve Strickland, Jay White vs. Hangman Page, Jon Moxley vs. Rey Fenix for the AEW International Title, and Saraya vs. Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women's World Championship. Chris Jericho will also take on Powerhouse Hobbs.

WWE NXT, meanwhile, will feature Carmelo Hayes vs. Bron Breakker with John Cena at ringside in support of Hayes and Paul Heyman in Breakker's corner. Cody Rhodes will also make a "major announcement", while Asuka will go one-on-one with fellow former NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez.

WWE won't miss out on the opportunity to promote NXT, with Dave Meltzer stating on Wrestling Observer Radio that he expects NXT to be heavily promoted on Monday Night Raw.

"They're going to try. I mean, both companies are loading up. And the reason is, is for this, I mean, it's a real competition. And I mean, the thing I expect very heavy promotion of NXT on Raw next Monday, probably the heaviest ever, because this Monday was pretty heavy. But I think next Monday will be well for sure it'll be heavier, it'll be probably the heaviest ever and I would expect more big roster names on that show next week. That, you know, will get announced on Monday," Meltzer said.

Ahead of the head-to-head battle, WWE NXT actually averaged a higher total viewership than AEW Dynamite this week, likely due to issues with the TBS listing for Dynamite
