Following a year of anticipation, Monday Night Raw finally premiered on Netflix from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California on January 6. WWE planned to present a pay-per-view/premium live event-calibre card with plenty of major matches and several returns taking place on the show.

RESULTS BEGIN BELOW

Triple H Opens The Show

Following an introduction from Michael Cole and a special cold open that ran through WWE's version of pro wrestling history, a curtain surrounding the ring came down and revealed Triple H stood in the middle of the squared circle as the WWE Chief Content Officer encouraged the fans inside the Intuit Dome to get loud. Triple H then asked "Are You Ready?" and welcomed fans to the Netflix era of Monday Night Raw.

The Rock Returns

After pyro and a ton of fireworks, "If Ya Smell" suddenly filled the arena and The Rock made his return to WWE. After a very long entrance, The Rock announced the Netflix premiere was the largest arena gate in WWE history before saying his trademark line, "Finally, The Rock has come back to Los Angeles."

The Rock then put over Cody Rhodes, who was shown at ringside, and both men ended up laughing after The Rock told him to say hello to Mama Rhodes. That appeared to be the end of whatever programme they were set to have. All's well that ends well.

The Rock then acknowledged his tribal chief Roman Reigns and thanked him before Rocky said he would be watching Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa very closely.

After some more of his trademark catchphrases, the segment ended with The Rock and Cody Rhodes embracing at ringside.

Roman Reigns def. Solo Sikoa - Tribal Combat

It was then time for Tribal Combat and it was Roman Reigns who dominated the early going before Solo Sikoa suddenly caught his cousin with a Spinning Uranage on the announce table. Sikoa then firmly gained the upper hand with a monitor shot to the head before Solo threw the steel steps straight at Roman's skull.

What followed was several minutes of Solo Sikoa dominance, including during the commercial break, although fans in the United Kingdom were still able to watch the action. Roman eventually fought back after avoiding a bottom to the face in the corner and followed up with several steel chair shots to the self-proclaimed Tribal Chief.

Reigns didn't have the upper hand for long and he was sent crashing to the mat following another Spinning Solo Uranage but Roman kicked out at two. Sikoa then spent too long trying to retrieve a table from under the ring and ate a Drive By from Reigns. Roman then set up a table in the ring and took too long as he ate a kendo stick to the head from Solo.

Sikoa forced a kendo stick into Roman's mouth in the corner as he told his cousin that he loved him. Roman replied by Powerbombing his cousin through a table and he had the match won until Tama Tonga pulled the referee out of the ring to break the pin. Jacob Fatu then appeared and took down Reigns with a DDT and Moonsault before Sikoa followed up with a Samoan Spike. Despite all of that, Reigns kicked out at two.

An angry Solo proceeded to hit the referee with a Samoan Spike and Sikoa went to hit another one on Roman Reigns before Sami Zayn and Jimmy Uso finally decided to make the save for the OTC. A Helluva Kick from Zayn to Solo followed before a Spear from Reigns. A referee then charged to the ring from the back but the time it took allowed Solo to kick out at two.

Roman Reigns then looked to take out Solo with another Spear but Kevin Owens appeared from out of nowhere and decked Reigns with a Stunner. This still wasn't enough to keep Reigns down as he kicked out again. KO then was about to hit a Package Piledriver but Cody Rhodes made the save for his former rival and he and Owens ended up brawling through the crowd.

With the match back down to two, Sikoa blocked a Superman Punch attempt but Reigns avoided a Spike and replied with two more Spears for the win.

Post-match, The Rock headed to the ring and placed the ula fala over Roman Reigns' head before the two members of the Anoa'i family embraced.

John Cena Returns, Declares for the Royal Rumble

Following a commercial break and a very short video which confirmed all the graphics in recent weeks were for Penta, John Cena made his return to WWE TV to kick off his farewell tour. Cena put over his history with Los Angeles, noting it was where he trained in UPW trying to become a pro wrestler and where The Prototype was born.

Cena then turned his attention to his final year, noting people have been asking when he is going to become a 17-time world champion. Cena told the fans he was going to be honest, he doesn't see himself achieving the accolade because he hasn't won a singles match in years.

Cena said with a streak like that, he couldn't just walk into the match, he would have to...win the Royal Rumble. Cena then declared himself for the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble and announced he would be winning the match on February 1.

Rhea Ripley def. Liv Morgan (c) - Women's World Championship

While originally announced as a Last Woman Standing Match, Rhea Ripley challenged Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship in a singles contest for the third time in the next match on Raw.

Ripley dominated the early going, planting Morgan on the announce table, but Liv soon gained control and worked over Ripley for several minutes. After plenty of Morgan dominance, Ripley hit a Riptide from out of nowhere but Liv kicked out at two.

Dominik Mysterio then slid the Women's World Title into the ring and the dumb referee carried the belt back to the outside which allowed Raquel Rodriguez to interfere and Morgan to connect with Oblivion. It was Ripley's turn to kick out of their opponent's finisher, however.

Morgan went for Oblivion again soon after but Ripley caught her and fired back with two more Riptides for the victory to regain the Women's World Title.

Post-match, Dominik Mysterio looked to reunite with Ripley but he instead received a Low Blow and Riptide. The Undertaker then came out on his motorcycle and posed with Ripley on the entranceway.

A backstage segment with Adam Pearce and Chad Gable hinted it would be Gable vs. Penta on next week's edition of Monday Night Raw. The Rock was then shown hugging Cody Rhodes and Triple H backstage at WWE Raw before Dwayne Johnson announced he would be on tomorrow night's episode of NXT.

Jey Uso def. Drew McIntyre

Jey Uso hit Drew McIntyre with a Suicide Dive before McIntyre could even finish making his entrance but McIntyre soon fought back and later set up for a Claymore which was blocked by a Superkick from Jey.

Uso then looked to follow up with an Uso Splash but McIntyre got his knees up and proceeded to score a near fall with a Sit-Out Powerbomb. Both men then exchanged strikes with 'Irn Dru' getting the better of the exchange following a Futureshock DDT for another near fall. McIntyre looked for the Claymore again soon after but Jey caught him with a Spear. It was Drew's turn to kick out on this occasion.

McIntyre finally connected with a Claymore but Jey kicked out. Drew continued on the attack and he was about to hit another Claymore but Uso collapsed to the mat before McIntyre could hit his finisher. After briefly gloating, the former WWE Champion went for the Claymore again but missed and Jey reversed into a crucifix pin for the win out of nowhere.

Following a Gunther video package and a backstage interview with New Day and Gabriel Iglesias, a backstage segment hinted WWE 2K25 would be announced with Roman Reigns on January 27.

Hulk Hogan Appears, Gets Booed

'Real American' filled the Intuit Dome next, followed by a whole lot of boos as Hulk Hogan made his entrance alongside Jimmy Hart, who was waving an American flag. Hulk Hogan put over the fans but just kept receiving boos. His Real American Beer was also heavily booed, as was Hogan saying Netflix was the greatest tag team partner of all time. Hogan then ripped off his t-shirt to end the segment.

CM Punk def. Seth Rollins

Main event time and CM Punk called back to Ring of Honor, wearing the same gear he adorned for his Dog Collar Match against MJF at AEW Revolution 2022.

Both men immediately went flying at each other, brawling in the middle of the ring as soon as the bell rang. They then brawled into the crowd and Seth Rollins gained the upper hand but allowed Punk back into the match as he argued with the official. Punk remained in control for the next several minutes, slowly working over Rollins until Seth caught him on a Crossbody and hit a Go To Sleep to the man who stole the move from KENTA. Rollins spent too much time gloating, though, and Punk fired back with a Stomp. Punk then looked for the GTS but Rollins blocked it and hit a second GTS of his own for a near fall.

The former Shield member then looked to follow up with a Stomp but Punk avoided it and rolled to the outside. This brought both men onto the announce table and Rollins decked his opponent with a Pedigree on the table. Seth hurt his knee in the process but still managed to hit a second Pedigree back in the ring. It still wasn't enough to put CM Punk away.

Rollins remained on top with a Buckle Bomb and finally a Stomp but Punk continued to annoy by getting his foot on the middle rope. Rollins next looked for his Superplex into a Falcon Arrow and he connected with the Superplex but Punk countered the Falcon Arrow into a GTS.

The move left Rollins stumbling and he fell onto Punk's shoulders as the Second City Saint connected with a second GTS for the big win.

The WWE Raw Netflix Premiere ended with Punk having his arm raised.
