WWE Reaction To CM Punk's MMA Hour Interview 'All Over The Place'

WWE react to CM Punk's MMA Hour interview

Ahead of WrestleMania 40, CM Punk was a special guest on the MMA Hour and the 45-year-old had a long interview with Ariel Helwani, during which they extensively covered Punk's time in All Elite Wrestling, including the backstage fight with Jack Perry at All In that led to Punk's firing.

The interview was the talk of social media on Monday night and there was plenty of reaction from within WWE that was said to be "all over the place", according to Fightful Select

One talent said they thought Punk would address his AEW run before too long, even though there is an NDA in place that prevents him from talking about The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Brawl Out, and other aspects of his time in the promotion. Another WWE talent, meanwhile, said they preferred Punk's MMA Hour interview to be this week in the hope that people will forget about it and move on to the pro wrestling by the time the weekend rolls around.

Amongst WWE higher-ups, they didn't believe Punk wanted to discuss AEW today but the former AEW World Champion knew it would likely be brought up during the interview. Punk isn't likely to have a heavy media schedule this week ahead of WrestleMania 40 as he continues his recovery from a torn triceps.

Punk made his return to WWE in November 2023 and the 45-year-old has only been receiving positive reviews in the promotion so far.
