WWE Reportedly Give Jeff Hardy 90 Day Non-Compete Period

Hardy was released by WWE on Thursday

Jeff Hardy's WWE release reportedly came attached with the company's usual 90-day non-compete clause for main roster talent.

As previously noted, Hardy was let go by WWE on Thursday 9 December amid reports the Charismatic Enigma declined the promotion's offer to enter rehab, following concerns about his wellbeing after he was pulled from Live Events last weekend.

The 44-year-old, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, was fully aware that WWE would need to take some form of action against him should be refuse to go to rehab.

The company made the decision to release Hardy rather than suspend him, with the former WWE Champion given a 90 day non-compete period. This means Hardy will continue to be paid by WWE up until March 9 2022, at which time he will become a free agent.

Hardy had been tagging with Drew McIntyre and Xavier Woods on the WWE Live Event show last Saturday when he noticeably became sluggish. He then left midway through the match, departing the arena through the crowd. He was replaced on last Sunday's show by Rey Mysterio.
