WWE's AJ Styles: The Miz Is The Best Heel In Pro Wrestling

On the most recent episode of Out of Character with Ryan Satin, AJ Styles talked about why he feels The Miz is the best heel in the wrestling business. 

Speaking about his recent feud on NXT with Grayson Waller, Styles explained: 

“You wanna hate [Waller]. He reminds me of The Miz. In my opinion, I don’t care what anybody says, the best heel in the business is The Miz. He’s so good, and I tell him often.

“To me, there’s no one who understands what a heel’s supposed to be like better than The Miz. That’s what I wanted to be, I’m just not as good as him. That’s what I want to be, and that’s what heels should want to be - they should not want to be liked.

“That’s what we should strive for, because with that emotion that you bring as a heel, it just makes whoever you’re working that much better. When you've got a heel and you've got a babyface, it’s easy. When you've got a great storyline, it’s easy - everything’s gonna work out.”

Styles seems to have received something of a push recently, occupying a prominent position for much of the recent Royal Rumble match, and enjoying widely-praised TV matches with Waller, Austin Theory and Rey Mysterio.

The Miz recently lost a mixed tag match alongside wife Maryse, being defeated by Edge and Beth Phoenix. He now appears to have moved into a new feud with the Mysterios.
