WWE's Charlotte Flair To Star in 'Walking Tall' Reboot

The Rock starred in a 2004 remake as well

Charlotte Flair is set to star in a reboot of the 1973 film 'Walking Tall', to be shown on the USA Network.

As reported by Deadline, Flair is set to star in the reboot which has already received a script sale from the cable network. The plan is for a two-hour TV movie that leaves the door open for further instalments or a future ongoing series.

The 1973 movie was also remade in 2004 and starred Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

The report suggests that the 12-time WWE Women's Champion will play 'a a Tucson cop who finds herself caught in a web of fraud, exploitation and murder, and is forced to go full vigilante to protect her home town from falling victim to modern corruption'.

Flair's role will be similar to the one that Joe Don Baker played in the original, a professional wrestler turned lawman, with The Rock playing a similar character in the 2004 remake.

The movie is being produced by David Erick and Village Roadshow, in association with WWE Studios, Three Rivers and Mosaic.
