WWE Sets Records With Madison Square Garden Live Event

WWE has broken another record in 2023

WWE made their annual holiday season trip to the iconic Madison Square Garden venue last night for a show which saw the first CM Punk match under the WWE banner for nearly 10 years, Seth Rollins defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre, and Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in a Bull Rope match, among other things.

The company has been hot in 2023, and this year especially has seen plenty of records broken. Once again, WWE has broken another record. According to Fightful Select, it was the highest-grossing domestic non-televised event in the entirety of WWE history, which is a major record to overcome, especially when it comes to such a historic venue. The show was also reportedly sold out, likely helped along by the return match of CM Punk.

With this milestone of course, this also made the MSG show the highest-grossing non-televised WWE event in the market’s history too. WWE has been setting market records all throughout this year, and are looking ahead to doing the same in 2024 too.
