WWE have signed a new olympian, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The company reportedly held a tryout with 17 Olympic athletes and WWE have since signed Aaron Fara, a judoka who represented Austria at the 2024 Olympic Games, losing in the first round. Fara is said to be charismatic and good at speaking to the media.

WWE have also offered deals to two other Olympic athletes. Shady Elnahas is a 26-year-old judoka from Canada who has competed at the Commonwealth Games and Pan American Games. Francois Prinaloo, meanwhile, is a 22-year-old discus thrower from South Africa.

WWE's most famous Olympian remains Kurt Angle. Olympic gold medallist Tyra Mae Steele (AKA Tamyra Mensah-Stock) is currently a developmental talent on WWE NXT and she made her debut in the Summer of 2024. People within WWE questioned why the company decided to change her name, especially as she is the first female Olympic gold medallist in WWE history.

WWE regularly hold tryouts for athletes as part of the company's recruitment strategy. WWE recently changed how they will look to bring in talents, though, by creating WWE ID, a system to provide a pathway for independent wrestlers into the company.
