WWE haven't scrapped their interest in eventually signing the Knockout Brothers from New Japan Pro-Wrestling despite being rejected by Yuto-Ice and OSKAR.
The reigning IWGP Tag Team Champions committed their futures to NJPW following their successful title defence against Zack Sabre Jr. and Ryohei Oiwa at New Year Dash, with Yuto-Ice saying he and OSKAR were "not going anywhere" despite "whatever rumours you hear."
A report from Self Made in December noted that WWE had offered contracts to Yuto-Ice and OSKAR. Despite the Knockout Brothers turning down the WWE deals, the company plans to monitor the situation and revisit potentially signing the tag team at a later date, according to Cory Hays of BodySlam.
"WWE offered a multi-year deal to the Knock Out Brothers as they wanted to give the tag division a big boost. The offer was politely declined as Yuto-Ice mentioned they aren't leaving New Japan after New Year Dash. WWE will continue to monitor and revisit a potential opportunity to sign them at a later time," Hays tweeted.
WWE seemingly planned to book The Knockout Brothers on NXT, with Hays noting the tag team wouldn't have gone to the main roster.
Yuto-Ice and OSKAR joined New Japan Pro-Wrestling as young lions. They returned from excursion on the final day of the 2025 G1 Climax, joining Bullet Club, and they went on to win the IWGP Tag Team Titles from Tomohiro Ishii and Taichi at Destruction in Kobe in September 2025.
