WWE SummerSlam 2023 results below!

WWE's third Big Four pay-per-view of the year took place on Saturday, August 5 as SummerSlam emanated from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

WWE advertised the show as having FOUR main events and plenty of headline matches were announced for the card, including Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match, GUNTHER vs. Drew McIntyre for the Intercontinental Title, Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar, and Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor for the World Heavyweight Title.

Check out the full results from WWE SummerSlam 2023 below:

Logan Paul def. Ricochet

To open the match, Logan Paul shined Ricochet's little bald head which prompted a slap to the face from Ricochet. The former United States Champion then taunted Paul. After a feeling-out process, the YouTuber took control, punching Ricochet before he kissed his significant other and decked Ricochet with a Running Powerslam, using Braun Strowman's finisher against The Monster Among Men's tag team partner. Paul then channelled his inner Hulk Hogan, hitting a Split Leg Drop and doing the Hogan pose. Ricochet managed to briefly fight back, connecting with a Standing Moonsault, only for Paul to quickly regain control.

Paul then went for a Spanish Fly from the apron to the floor but Ricochet landed on his feet, proceeding to deck Paul with a Spanish Fly on the outside. The move did nothing to halt Logan Paul's momentum, though, as he hit a Buckshot Lariat to the floor before he had a big swig of PRIME. Back in the ring, Logan Paul hit a Crossbody and Standing Moonsault for a near fall.

Ricochet managed to fight back again, connecting with an Avalanche Neckbreaker and a Standing Shooting Star Press. Paul later went for a Moonsault. Ricochet managed to catch his opponent but Paul reversed into a Tornado DDT as the fans in Detroit went wild. Paul tried to follow up with a Powerbomb but ate a Codebreaker from Ricochet. The former Intercontinental Champion went for a Shooting Star Press but Paul got his knees up and rolled his opponent up for a two count.

Paul followed up with a Springboard Frog Splash and went for a Superman Punch but it was blocked with a Superkick from Ricochet. One Benedriller and a Springboard Moonsault later and Ricochet scored a near fall. Ricochet then tried to hit a 630 Splash but he ate the mat. One of Logan Paul's cronies then placed brass knuckles on Paul's fingers and the wrestler who went to a boxing draw with Floyd Mayweather knocked out Ricochet before he made the cover to pick up the pinfall victory.

Cody Rhodes def. Brock Lesnar

A feud that began on the Raw after WrestleMania 39 came to an end at SummerSlam as Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar went one-on-one for a third time. Cody won their match at Backlash but Brock won the second clash at Night of Champions after he gave Rhodes a storyline broken arm earlier in the week.

With Rhodes making his entrance second, he immediately went after Brock in the ring when Lesnar turned his back on his opponent. The Beast soon took control, though, following a German Suplex and he briefly worked over Rhodes until he was sent crashing into the ring post. Cody had a brief flurry before Lesnar took control again with a variety of suplexes. Rhodes continued to be taken to Suplex City as Cody's mother looked on in horror.

After all those suplexes, Lesnar began sweating profusely and he clotheslined Rhodes to the outside before he decked Rhodes with an F5 on the floor. Lesnar tried to win the match by count-out but Rhodes dragged himself into the ring and screamed at Brock before he unloaded a brief flurry of punches, only to eat another German Suplex and an F5, this time through the announce table.

Rhodes got back in at nine, causing another flurry of cheers from the fans in attendance. More German suplexes followed as Michael Cole urged Cody to give up and receive medical attention. Rhodes then stupidly picked up the steel steps and used them as a weapon, which inexplicably did not lead to a DQ. Rhodes then followed up with a Disaster Kick, a Cody Cutter and a Super Cody Cutter, only to pick up a near fall.

Next, Lesnar applied the Kimura Lock but Rhodes made it to the ropes. Cody later sent Lesnar crashing into an exposed turnbuckle before Rhodes applied a Kimura Lock of his own. Lesnar managed to break free and somehow ripped his pants. Cody next powered up like Hulk Hogan and connected with three Cross Rhodes for the victory.

After the match, Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes butted heads before Brock hugged Rhodes and raised Cody's arm aloft, showing the ultimate respect to his opponent.

LA Knight wins the Slim Jim Battle Royal

Next at SummerSlam was the Slim Jim Battle Royal and before the match could begin, MVP announced Omos would be part of the Battle Royal. The giant then made quick work of Jordan Devlin and Apollo Crews. Otis, much to everyone's dismay, was sent crashing out of the match next by Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. Chad Gable then tossed out Vinci before Tommaso Ciampa eliminated the Viking Raiders and Shinsuke Nakamura. Ciampa was then thrown out by Bronson Reed and Austin Theory scored two eliminations, getting rid of Ridge Holland and Cameron Grimes. Santos Escobar then eliminated the United States Champion ahead of their title match on Friday's SmackDown, only for Karrion Kross to get rid of Escobar.

Chad Gable continued to receive a big reaction, eliminating Ludwig Kaiser with a Head Scissors. Omos next eliminated Matt Riddle and Butch at the same time before everyone worked together to eliminate the massive man. Grayson Waller and The Miz then formed an alliance. They achieved nothing and LA Knight eliminated The Miz. Waller was then gone after being tossed out by Sheamus.

This made the final six Karrion Kross, AJ Styles, Chad Gable, Bronson Reed, Sheamus, and LA Knight. Kross was then sent out following a Pele Kick from AJ Styles. Bronson Reed then sent Chad Gable packing, only for the big man to be levered over the top rope by LA Knight.

AJ Styles was eliminated after Kross grabbed his leg and Sheamus decked him with a Brogue Kick. This brought the match down to LA Knight and Sheamus and after a back and forth, LA Knight clotheslined Sheamus over the top rope to win the Slim Jim Battle Royal. YEAH!

Shayna Baszler def. Ronda Rousey - MMA Rules Match

The personal feud between Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey led to an MMA Rules Match at SummerSlam and both talents were greeted by a "Boring!" chant one minute in after some grappling, a takedown attempt, and a blocked Armbar attempt. Rousey was rocked by a Roundhouse Kick from Shayna Baszler before Baszler applied a Leg Lock. Rousey later connected with a Step-Up Knee as the crowd remained disinterested.

Rousey next applied an Armbar and Baszler sent them crashing over the top rope to break the hold. Baszler was left with only one arm and she received medical attention, only for Rousey to beat up the medical team. Baszler pulled out her mouth guard in response and Baszler connected with a German Suplex and locked in the Kirifuda Clutch. Rousey rolled through into an Armbar and she locked it in deep, only for Baszler to counter into an Ankle Lock.

Rousey next reversed into a Sleeper as chants of "This is boring" filled the arena. Baszler applied a Kirifuda Clutch again until Rousey passed out.

GUNTHER (c) def. Drew McIntyre - Intercontinental Championship

One of the most highly-anticipated matches took place at SummerSlam next as GUNTHER defended the Intercontinental Championship against Drew McIntyre. The match started out slow until GUNTHER took control. A multitude of Lariats followed before two Belly to Belly suplexes and a Neckbreaker from Drew.

McIntyre set up for the Claymore but GUNTHER ducked out of the way and followed up with a Shotgun Dropkick, only for McIntyre to fire back with a Powerbomb and Futureshock DDT for a near fall. GUNTHER next rolled to the outside to avoid a Claymore, only for McIntyre to hit a huge dive to the floor. Upon getting the champion back into the ring, McIntyre went for the Claymore again but GUNTHER hit another Shotgun Dropkick and a Powerbomb, only for McIntyre to kick out again. GUNTHER hit his Splash next and Irn Dru managed to kick out at two.

An angry GUNTHER proceeded to slap McIntyre before a Chop battle to give them both lovely red chests. GUNTHER was just about on top before he ducked and decked GUNTHER with a Claymore from out of nowhere. The fans in Detroit thought that was it but GUNTHER managed to get his shoulder up.

Later, both men started chopping each other on the top turnbuckle before McIntyre's nether regions crashed between the ropes. GUNTHER capitalised with a Splash, a Chop, and a Powerbomb for the victory.

GUNTHER wins the match clean and McIntyre certainly didn't look happy following the contest, possibly teasing a heel turn down the line.

Seth Rollins (c) def. Finn Balor - World Heavyweight Championship

Seven years on from their first world title match at SummerSlam and Finn Balor challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship in the next contest. Balor, with 'Seven' written on his pec, attacked Rollins briefly before the match but the referee managed to separate the two competitors and begin the contest. Rollins also called back to their 2016 match, wearing the same ring jacket on his way to the ring.

Balor quickly gained control of the contest and he worked over the World Heavyweight Champion for several minutes. Rollins fired back with some headbutts which led to duelling chants inside Ford Field. Balor then regained control by driving Rollins along the apron and into the ring post. Balor then tried to call back to 2016 with a Buckle Bomb into the barricade but the move was blocked by Rollins briefly. After some grappling Balor hit the Buckle Bomb into the barricade and Balor connected with a Slingblade back in the ring. Before The Prince could hit the Shotgun Dropkick, though, Rollins blocked it with a Superkick. After some back and forth, Rollins hit a pair of Buckle Bombs in the ring before a Frog Splash for a near fall.

Finn suffered a bloody mouth having seemingly bitten his tongue at some point, and he managed to connect with the Shotgun Dropkick before he set up for his finisher. Balor looked to go for the Coup de Grace but the champion countered with a Superplex. Rollins went for the Falcon Arrow combination but Balor rolled him up for a very close near fall.

Balor managed to connect with the Shotgun Dropkick again but missed the Coup de Grace. One Pedigree from Rollins later and that looked to be it, only for Balor to kick out. The crowd suddenly started to look towards the entranceway, revealing Damian Priest had made his way to the ring with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Rollins went for the Stomp but Balor dodged it. Rollins tried to roll him up but Balor kicked out, sending Seth into the ropes for a cheap shot from Priest while the referee wasn't looking. Balor then hit the Pedigree and everyone in Ford Field thought that was it, only for Rollins to kick out.

Next, Priest invited Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio to the ring to distract the referee. Priest offered the briefcase to Balor but Finn refused, saying that wasn't the plan. Rollins went to attack Balor but hit Priest instead. All of the commotion allowed Rollins to connect with the Stomp but Balor managed to kick out. Rollins then focused on taking out Judgment Day which allowed Finn in the ring to connect with the Slingblade, Shotgun Dropkick and Coup de Grace, but Rollins managed to kick out!

As the official checked on Rollins, Priest left the Money in the Bank briefcase for Finn after the urging of Balor. Seth only took advantage, though, hitting a Stomp on the briefcase before he pinned the challenger to record the successful title defence. Balor and Priest shook their heads at each other, signalling their latest issues are far from over.

Bianca Belair def. Asuka (c) & Charlotte Flair - Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women's Championship

The WWE Women's World Championship was slotted in as the semi-main event as Asuka defended the gold against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat, with there being plenty of fear heading into the match due to Flair's undefeated record at SummerSlam.

Each of the competitors enjoyed time on top until Flair had to use the referee to prevent a wardrobe malfunction, leaving Belair and Asuka awkwardly hovering in the corner while the issue was corrected. The match eventually managed to get back on track and Flar connected with a Double Natural Selection. Asuka then connected with a Codebreaker to Flair while she tried to apply the Figure Four Leglock to Bianca Belair. The EST was on top next, but the match continued to remain disjointed.

A Spear from Charlotte to Belair followed until Asuka applied the Asuka Lock to Flair. The submission was broken up by a Springboard Moonsault from Bianca. Later, Flair hit her patented Moonsault to the outside, taking out Belair. Asuka avoided it, though, and capitalised with a DDT to Flair back in the ring, only for Belair to break up the pin.

Flair caught Asuka with a Big Boot and Belair tried to hit a KOD on Charlotte but Flair escaped. Belair managed to hit another move, though, before Asuka locked in a Triangle Choke on Flair. Charlotte tried to escape but she ate a Gutwrench Powerbomb from Belair. Asuka capitalised with the Asuka Lock to Belair but Flair broke up the submission with a pin.

With Charlotte on top, she connected with a Double Moonsault for a near fall before she went for a Double Figure Eight and failed. Belair was next sent crashing to the floor by Flair, hitting her knee on the steel steps which left her screaming in pain from the storyline injury. This brought it down to Asuka and Charlotte while Belair received medical attention and Asuka hit a Superplex. With both women down, Belair was escorted up the entranceway by medical personnel.

Flair hit a Spear for another near fall and she managed to apply the Figure Four Leglock on Asuka. With the match in jeopardy, Belair hobbled back to the ring and hit a 450 Splash while the Figure Eight was locked in but Flair managed to kick out. After some more back and forth, Charlotte locked in the Figure Eight but before Belair tapped out, Asuka sprayed the green mist into Flair's face. Asuka then looked to take advantage, only to be rolled up by Bianca Belair for the 1-2-3.

IYO SKY def. Bianca Belair (c) - WWE Women's Championship

Smelling blood, IYO SKY charged to the ring with Bayley. The Role Model took out Asuka and Flair with the briefcase but Belair managed to fight off Bayley. She couldn't get rid of IYO SKY, though, who hit Belair's injured knee with the briefcase.

IYO SKY then cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase and hit the downed Belair with a Moonsault to win the WWE Women's Championship.

Roman Reigns (c) def. Jey Uso - Tribal Combat Match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

One month on from pinning Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank and Jey Uso challenged the Tribal Chief for that title and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Tribal Combat Match.

As has become common with Roman Reigns' main events, the match started incredibly slowly, with very little beyond Roman Reigns' dominance happening in the first 10 minutes, with Reigns beating Jey with a kendo stick at one point.

Eventually Roman went for the Superman Punch but Jey Uso blocked it with a kendo stick shot before he unloaded on his cousin. Uso then took out Reigns with a Tope Con Hilo. Jey went for the Uso Splash next but Roman decked him with a Superman Punch in mid-air for a near fall. Uso then blocked a Spear and connected with the Uso Splash for a near fall of his own. Uso followed up with some chair shots before Roman Reigns powered back with a Powerbomb on a pile of chairs.

Several minutes later, Uso sent himself and Roman crashing through a table with a Samoan Drop from the apron to the floor. A leather strap entered the fray next and Jey repeatedly whipped the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion as they went through the crowd. Jey Uso was about to put Reigns through another table, only for Solo Sikoa to attack his brother and send Jey through that same table with a Uranage.

The action entered the ring again and the Bloodline tried to hit a tag team move, only for Roman to accidentally spear Solo Sikoa. Jey followed up with a Spear of his own to Roman Reigns for a near fall. Jey then delivered chair shots to Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns until Solo Sikoa flattened Uso with a Superkick on the outside.

Roman Reigns looked to Solo Sikoa again for assistance but Sikoa was angry about the Spear. He then teased hitting Roman with a Samoan Spike and Jey Uso used the argument to capitalise, decking Reigns with a Spear through the barricade. Jey then put Solo through the announce table with an Uso Splash and Jey hit a third Spear to Roman. A second Uso Splash followed, only for a hooded figure to pull Jey out of the ring. That hooded figure revealed themselves to be Jimmy Uso.

As "F*ck You Jimmy" chants filled the arena, he Superkicked Jey. A confused Roman took advantage, Spearing Jey through the table before pinning his cousin for the victory.

A slow, plodding match ends with Roman Reigns still your Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
