WWE Tag Team Reunion Scrapped Due To Injury

WWE tag team reuniting scrapped due to an injury

Plans for a tag team reunion had to be scrapped earlier this year after one of the planned participants in the angle sustained a serious injury.

Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez teamed together in 2022, even defeating Toxic Attraction to capture the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships only one month after they formed their tag team. Jade and Perez would split, though, after Jade cost her tag team partner her shot at the NXT Women's Championship, turning heel in the process.

This led to a programme between Perez and Jade that ultimately concluded at Halloween Havoc 202 with a win for Perez in a Weapons Wild Match.

According to Corey Brennan of Fightful Select, Jade and Perez were provisionally planned to reunite as heels but those plans had to be scrapped after Cora Jade sustained a torn ACL earlier this year. There had been some speculation that Perez had filled a role planned for Jade on the NXT roster prior to her injury but that is reportedly not the case.

Perez completed her long-teased heel turn on March 2024 and NXT officials have been "blown away" by the character so far. The former Rok-C will challenge for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 6.
