While WWE and All Elite Wrestling are in competition within professional wrestling, football has united at least one WWE talent with Tony Khan.

Speaking with The Athletic, Finn Balor revealed that Angelo Dawkins is a Fulham FC fan after the Pride member was blocked from selecting one of the bigger teams in the Premier League.

"A lot of the American lads don't understand the tier system of English football. Angelo Dawkins from the Street Profits is a huge sports fan. Two years ago, he had no idea about our football. I explained to him the tier system and then he got into watching football. I made him pick a team and he wasn't allowed to pick from the top four. He picked Fulham, so he's a Fulham fan now and he's really into it!" Balor said.

Alongside his All Elite Wrestling and Jacksonville Jaguars duties, Tony Khan is the Vice Chairman and Director of Football Operations at Fulham. This has led to him working on Fulham transfers while backstage at AEW TV tapings.

Khan was present at Craven Cottage with Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin on Saturday, February 17 for Fulham's 2-1 loss to Aston Villa. The victors took the opportunity to troll Khan after the match as the Villa X (FKA Twitter) account posted the final result with a video of Prince Nana dancing during Swerve Strickland's entrance.

AEW have also been used to advertise Fulham FC games in the past, a decision which led to a chorus of boos at All In 2023.

Football is popular with elements of the WWE roster, with Finn Balor an ardent Tottenham Hotspur fan, while Sheamus and JD McDonagh support Liverpool. Drew McIntyre, meanwhile, is a fan of Rangers and AEW's resident Geordie PAC is a supporter of Newcastle United. CM Punk also bizarrely claims to be a Millwall fan.
