WWE Talents 'Caught Off Guard' By Rare NXT Finish

DQ finish catches WWE NXT talents off guard

The programme between Gigi Dolin and Arianna Grace continued on the March 12 edition of WWE NXT and the two talents faced off in a singles match. The contest had a rare finish too as when the referee took Grace's tiara out of the ring, she caught Gigi Dolin with a back kick to Dolin's nether regions when the official wasn't looking. This briefly floored Dolin but she fired back with a low blow that left Grace's eyes spinning into the back of her head.

The former WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Champion was less subtle about her own low blow, however, and she hit the move right in front of the referee, leading to the DQ finish.

The low-blow DQ finish has been used in professional wrestling for men's matches for decades but March 12 was one of the first instances of the finish finding its way into a women's match. The finish surprised fans and many in NXT were also caught "off guard" by the low blow DQ, according to Fightful Select. Both Dolin and Grace received credit for how they sold the finish.

Dolin reacted to the finish, tweeting: "For those wondering, YES.. IT HURTS."

Elsewhere at the March 12 taping of NXT, Booker T has claimed he "almost got into it" with CM Punk.
