WWE Thought Triple H's Offer To Will Ospreay Was 'Way Too Low'

Triple H’s offer to Will Ospreay seen as ‘way too low’ in WWE

Before signing on the dotted line and becoming ‘All Elite’ with All Elite Wrestling, Will Ospreay was the subject of interest from every major professional wrestling company on the planet following the news in late 2023 that he was not to sign a new deal with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Widely considered the best wrestler on the planet, Ospreay’s signature was sure to have cost AEW a lot of money, and a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests AEW’s gain was WWE’s loss, with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H believed to have offered ‘too low’ of a financial package to Ospreay.

Meltzer suggests that some in WWE - whilst not prepared to say it publicly - believed that Triple H’s offer was too low to secure Ospreay, a sentiment which suggests that Triple H didn’t quite know what he could have had with Ospreay.

After critically acclaimed bouts since joining AEW officially and some raucous mic-work on AEW TV, Meltzer had recently suggested that Triple H didn’t realise just how good Ospreay is, and if the contract reports are true then it certainly seems that is the case.
