WWE’s multi-billion dollar move to Netflix has seen a lot of changes in the way fans all around the world view WWE programming. In the US, Monday Night RAW airs weekly live on the streaming service, and internationally this also includes all premium live events, SmackDown, and NXT.
For fans in India, WWE have yet to transition over to Netflix, but this is set to change soon. For over two decades, WWE had aired on the Sony Sports Network, which also saw WWE host two Superstar Spectacle events, exclusively for Indian fans. Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque confirmed on Netflix’s YouTube channel that WWE will now be heading to Netflix India, starting April 1 ahead of WrestleMania 41.
“Namaste, India. This is the King of Kings, the Game, Triple H. Are you ready? Starting on April 1, WWE has a brand-new home in India. This means Raw, SmackDown, NXT, every premium live event from the Royal Rumble to SummerSlam and all of it leads to the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. So, India, I’ll ask you one more time, are you ready? Because this is the beginning of the Netflix era.”
It was reported this week that WWE were seeking to renew their PLE deal with Peacock in the US, rather than moving over fully to Netflix.
