WWE Turned Down Kylie Rae Following Tryout

Kylie Rae speaks about her recent WWE tryout, and reveals she is still in regular contact with the promotion.

Kylie Rae, former AEW and IMPACT Wrestling star - as well as a familiar name on the US independent scene - recently spoke to Going Broadway Podcast. The interview covered numerous topics, including Kylie's recent tryout with WWE, after which she has revealed she was not signed to the promotion. However the experience was not a negative one, Kylie explained:

"I was not contracted with NWA anymore, so I was able to throw my name in the hat for extra work. 'If y'all need any women, I'm more than happy to be considered for this opportunity, please let me know. If not, I completely understand.'

"I just assumed that any type of opportunity going forward was going to be few and far between, if any. I was okay with that. I talked to Gabe [Sapolsky], and from what I understood, he was surprised I was even reaching out for extra work. [He said] 'I think we can get you a tryout if you're able to.' One thing I appreciated was, we had a conversation of where my mental health is, the sobriety came up, we were able to talk about that, and he wasn't focusing on the past, just more of, 'what do you have in place right now that's going to keep you on the route that you're currently on?' [...] It was a good conversation."

After speaking about having tryout matches with NXT Superstars Thea Hail and Fallon Henley, Kylie revealed that despite not being signed, she feels as though her relationship with WWE is in a good place, and is still contacted to do extra work.

"I got the, 'not right now' deal, which is okay. If it's meant to be, it'll happen. If it's meant to be, it would have happened. [...] They're having us still come back for extra work, I was there this past Friday and the Friday before. From what it felt like, I can't speak on their behalf because I don't know, but from what it felt like, after the match, maybe I'm naive but they seemed very happy with it."
