WWE Women's Championship Match Set For January 17 SmackDown
Tiffany Stratton will defend the WWE Women's Title
Jan 11, 2025
On last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton finally cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase to win the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time in her career. She turned her back on former ally Nia Jax, attacking her with the briefcase following a title defence against Naomi, before also attacking Candice LeRae too. With the help of Bianca Belair, Stratton picked up the win and escaped with the gold.
Stratton looked to celebrate on SmackDown this week, but coming out of the show all she had to celebrate was her first challenger emerging. A fatal four way match took place on the blue brand featuring both WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Naomi, in addition to former Women’s Champions Bayley and Nia Jax. Bayley emerged as the winner, earning a title match that will take place on next week’s January 17 episode of SmackDown at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California.
Also announced for next week’s SmackDown is the return of the now former Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa, making his first appearance since losing to Roman Reigns on RAW’s premiere on Netflix.
