The bad blood that exists between CM Punk and Seth Rollins is well known, with Rollins once branding Punk a ‘cancer’ during his time away from WWE. Ever since CM Punk has returned to WWE, he and Rollins have been at each other’s throats on-screen, leading to their match on RAW’s Netflix debut on January 6.
Rollins took a deep dive into some of the personal stories he has had involving Punk during an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, and revealed that he’d even reached out to Punk amidst his absence from the company, only to get blanked by the ‘Best In The World’.
“Like, we were friends till he left, you know, and we had a mentor, mentee kind of relationship, you know, at that point, because I was a lot younger, so, like, I didn’t push. I sent him some texts and call them like after he left, but I wasn’t, like, comfortable enough with him to like, because we weren’t peers. But, you know, he was here and I was here, so I didn’t want to, like, push that envelope. So, after a while, I just let it go. And then, even over the years, I reached out to him a couple of times to try to, like, engage and just see where he was at and if he was interested in coming back. And nothing, no response, except whenever he would get a chance, he would just talk as much crap as he could.”
During the same interview, Rollins spoke on the animosity between the pair, and stated that their hatred is still very real. Bully Ray also spoke on this topic, revealing from his experience that the animosity is still authentic between Punk and Rollins, although they are happy to still work professionally with one another.
