WWE WrestleMania 39 Sets More Records

More records set by WWE WrestleMania 39

Aside from being the hottest event in the pro-wrestling calendar, WWE WrestleMania is a hot commodity for whichever city hosts it, with Mania bringing in massive numbers and giving a significant boost to which local economy is in play.

For WrestleMania 39, WWE headed to Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, and new figures have revealed that the event set WrestleMania attendance records, as well as setting an income record for a WWE event, with a report from Applied Analysis revealing the figures that have led to WWE heralding Mania 39 as ‘the highest-grossing and most-attended event in WWE history.’

Per the findings from Applied Analysis, Mania 39 generated over $215 million for the Los Angeles region, bettering the $206.5 million generated for the Texas local economy at 2022’s WrestleMania 38 event.

The switch to a two-night Mania has indeed increased earnings and attendance for WWE, with over 161,000 fans believed to have attended this year’s ‘Grandaddy of ‘em All’.

Further findings posted by WWE from the study included:

  • By continuing to broaden the week’s schedule of events, out-of-town visitors stayed an average of 4.1 nights in Los Angeles.
  • More than half of attendees travelled to Los Angeles from outside of southern California, with 15% of attendees travelling in from international markets.
  • Visitors had an annual average income of more than $100K.

The UK is still yet to host a WrestleMania-level event for WWE, but after John Cena teased Mania for London at Money in the Bank on July 1, the idea of hosting the supershow has been brought up in the UK parliament, with these latest figures surely set to turn some heads.
