WWE WrestleMania 40 Saturday Breaks Single Night Gate Record

WWE has set a new record at WrestleMania 40

WWE’s WrestleMania 40 week and weekend were always going to set some records, and following on from record domestic gates for the go-home Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown events, Night One of WrestleMania set another huge record. During the WrestleMania 40 Saturday post-show press conference, Triple H revealed that the show had broken the record for WWE’s single night gate.

"We broke our all-time single night gate record here tonight. That is something that Nick and I and the team spend a lot of time pouring through, how to increase that but remain in that zone where anybody can come to a show. We're not pricing our fans out of the market. We're very conscious of making sure everybody out there can enjoy WWE. It's not just about the money and the numbers, it's about making sure everybody can take part.”

The attendance announced by WWE was over 72,000, though WrestleTix states that this number is closer to 68,000. WWE’s previous gate record came all the way back in 2016 with WrestleMania 32, though this has now been broken. With WrestleMania Sunday coming later tonight, this record could be broken very quickly.
