X-Division Championship Match Set For IMPACT Victory Road 2021

Josh Alexander has his next opponent lined up

Josh Alexander's next X-Division Championship defence has been set for IMPACT Victory Road 2021 later this month.

The reigning champion held an open challenge for his Title on the September 2 episode of IMPACT Wrestling, with a returning Jake Crist answering the call. Alexander quickly dispatched of Crist with the C-4, retaining his Championship.

After the bout, interviewer Gia Miller asked Alexander why he risked losing his Title in an open challenge. He responded that he needs to be in the conversation for the greatest X-Division Champion ever, leading to Chris Sabin making his way to the ring.

Sabin boasted about how he was a former eight-time X-Division Champion whereas Alexander has only held the belt once, and said that Alexander needed to beat the best to be the best, challenging him to a match for the Title at IMPACT Victory Road.

Alexander quickly accepted the challenge, shaking Sabin's hand, confirming the Title bout for Saturday 18 September.

Alexander vs. Sabin is the second match confirmed for the show. Also at Victory Road, Christian Cage will defend the IMPACT World Championship against Ace Austin.
