The former Zoey Stark has a new name following her WWE release.

In a promotional video announcing her impending free agency, within which she trained with AEW's Brian Cage, it was announced that Stark would be performing as "The Purist" Zoey Serrano when she is able to wrestle again from July 24, 2026. The new name sees the former WWE talent simply substitute 'Stark' for her real surname of 'Serrano', as opposed to returning to the name she used on the independent wrestling scene early in her career of Lacey Ryan.

Serrano signed with WWE in 2021, initially performing on NXT until she moved to the main roster in 2023. Stark was initially booked as Trish Stratus' protégé on the main roster and she remained featured on Monday Night Raw after the Stratus partnership came to an end. Stark had been off WWE TV since May 2025, though, after suffering a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus which meant she required reconstructive knee surgery.

Within the promotional video, Serrano noted that she was cleared to return in February 2026 but she was not brought back to TV prior to her release in the aftermath of WrestleMania 42. Serrano was one of 30 wrestlers let go by the company, with the releases also including the New Day, the whole of the Wyatt Sicks, Kairi Sane, Zelina Vega, Aleister Black, and the Motor City Machine Guns.

During her five-year WWE run, Stark held the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships for 112 days with Io Shirai (IYO SKY).
