WWE's boom period that began with Triple H's appointment as WWE Chief Content Officer continued in 2023, with WWE creative largely remaining very good outside of sporadic Vince McMahon meddling during the Spring and Summer until WWE was officially sold to Endeavor and the pro wrestling promotion merged with UFC under TKO Group Holdings.

There were a whole host of title changes in 2023, but the most famous one was a title change that ultimately didn't happen as Cody Rhodes, following backstage politics behind the scenes, didn't defeat Roman Reigns to become Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
