2022 was very much a year of turbulence for WWE, including as an on-screen product.
Amidst a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal, Vince McMahon would announce his retirement as WWE CEO and Chairman in the Summer of 2022. McMahon would ultimately return in January 2023 but he was out of WWE creative for the second half of 2022 as Triple H took over, becoming WWE Chief Content Officer.
With both Vince McMahon and Triple H at the helm in 2022, this led to plenty of title changes across WWE TV.
