1549 years on from the collapse of the Western Roman Empire when Odoacer deposed Romulus Augustulus, we had another year of professional wrestling, and it was certainly a mixed 2025 for the industry.

There have been some major positives, like AEW returning (mostly) to their creative best, while TNA Wrestling have only gone from strength to strength business-wise with record attendances in North America, and a new US media rights deal.

WWE, meanwhile, continue to make more money than ever, but the company's creative suffered in 2025, while an incessant number of adverts continue to be plugged into pay-per-views.

There were also some incredibly random things that happened in 2025, like the revival of gimmicks thought to be dead and Keiji Muto sampling ramen from a UK pub chain notorious for their use of the microwave.
