AEW: Dynamite Results - April 7, 2021: TNT Title Match, Jon Moxley & The Young Bucks Vs. Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers

On this week's edition of AEW: Dynamite, Mike Tyson returned to All Elite Wrestling, Darby Allin defended the TNT Title against JD Drake and The Young Bucks turned heel and reunited with Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers in the main event. 

AEW kicked off the night's in-ring action with "Hangman" Adam Page and Max Caster as The Acclaimed man looked to knock The Anxious Millenial Cowboy from the top spot in the rankings. Caster was ultimately unsuccessful, though, as while his tag team partner Anthony Bowens repeatedly interfered in the match, they were unable to put Hangman away and Page decked Caster with the Buckshot Lariat for the win after 10 minutes. 

After Hangman had finished his beer-drinking celebration, Tony Schiavone invited Death Triangle to the ring for the next segment and he announced PAC and Rey Fenix will face The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship next week. Before Death Triangle could say anything, though, Best Friends, Orange Cassidy and Kris Statlander arrived on the ramp and told PAC and co. they haven't forgotten about their feud from early 2020. The two factions then had a brief back and forth, which included PAC telling Best Friends to "jog on", and the segment came to an end before they came to blows. 

Next up was The Inner Circle's return segment and Chris Jericho gave a tremendous babyface promo. The Painmaker admitted The Pinnacle's attack gave them a wake-up call and made them realise they had made a lot of bad decisions over the last six months. Jericho then went on to apologise to the audience in Jacksonville and noted those decisions were caused by MJF or "my jerk-off friend." Jericho then proceeded to diss Friedman and the other members of The Pinnacle before he promised to form a human centipede with the faction and announced the two groups will square off in a Blood & Guts Match on May 5.  

After a commercial break, Christian Cage was interviewed by Dasha backstage but Captain Charisma was quickly interrupted by Taz, who extended him an offer to join Team Taz. 

The Godzilla vs. Kong match between Jurassic Express and Bear Country followed. Both teams battled back and forth during the nine-minute match and Godzilla came out on top after Luchasaurus hit Bear Bronson with a Chokeslam and Mesozoic Moonsault.

A pre-taped vignette from QT Marshall and his faction inside the Nightmare Factory followed and the former Natural Nightmare disparaged his former friend Cody's career before he put over Anthony Ogogo, Aaron Solow and Nick Comoroto.  

After another break, Tony Schiavone and Sting had their weekly catch up and they were once again interrupted by Jake Roberts and Lance Archer. The Murderhawk Monster said he was done being in the main event and then disappearing and he told Sting he and the world are going to pay attention to him. The Icon then snatched the microphone from Archer and gave a passionate promo in which he said he agreed that Archer was main event material, but The Murderhawk has to channel that energy in the right direction. Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky watched the proceedings from the rafters. 

After another backstage vignette teasing dissension within Team Taz, it was time for Darby Allin's TNT Title defence against JD Drake. The former EVOLVE Tag Team Champion was made to look strong throughout the match and he almost picked up the win with a Moonsault, but Darby rolled out of the way and capitalised with an Avalanche Code Red and the Coffin Drop for the 1-2-3. 

Allin didn't have time to celebrate his win, however, as he was bulldozed by the Hardy Family Office, who then attempted to put him through the announce table, but Sting and Dark Order made the save. 

The broadcast then turned its attention back to The Inner Circle and Alex Marvez was set to interview Chris Jericho but The Pinnacle blindsided Le Champion and dragged him to the ring. Jericho's stablemates were little help as they had been locked in their dressing room, but Mike Tyson entered the squared circle just as Wardlow was going to Powerbomb The Demo God through a table and Iron Mike pummelled Shawn Spears with body shots as the rest of The Pinnacle fled. The Inner Circle then managed to arrive in the ring after breaking down their dressing room door and Jericho and Mike Tyson shook hands and hugged before the new babyface faction stood tall to end the segment. 

A backstage interview between Britt Baker and Tony Schiavone was next up during which the good doctor announced her intention to climb the rankings and earn a shot at the AEW Women's World Championship. 

Tay Conti looks to be next in line for a title shot, though, as she managed to put away The Bunny after a seven-minute match. The action broke down in the latter stages as the Hardy Family Office and Dark Order brawled on the outside, which allowed The Bunny to deck Conti with a kendo stick. Allie was unable to use the weapon again, however, as Hikaru Shida jumped up on the apron and pulled it out of her hands. Tay Conti then capitalised with a Superplex and Hammerlock DDT for the win. 

Announcements about next week's show followed and it was then time for the main event as Jon Moxley and The Young Bucks faced off against Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers. Both teams enjoyed time on top throughout the match but much of the action focussed on The Young Bucks reluctance to hit Kenny Omega with any of their signature moves. 

This ultimately played into the finish as Matt and Nick Jackson refused to hit Omega with the BTE Trigger. A disgusted Moxley took matters into his own hands and decked Omega with two Paradigm Shifts and went for a third but The Bucks suddenly dropped him with a pair of Superkicks. Gallows and Anderson then miraculously recovered from their earlier beatdown and drove off Eddie Kingston before the former IMPACT World Tag Team Champions put Moxley away with a Magic Killer and dragged Omega over the Maestro Of Mayhem for the pin. 

In the post-match festivities, The Young Bucks cemented their heel turn as they Superkicked Moxley again after a brief moment of contemplation and Dynamite went off the air as they embraced The Good Brothers, Omega and Don Callis.
