AEW Rampage Match Changed Due To Injury

Injury at AEW Rampage led to changes

Plans had to be changed mid-match during the Saturday, April 20 episode of AEW Rampage.

Yuka Sakazaki defeated Emi Sakura on Saturday night but Sakazaki sustained a leg injury after falling awkwardly to the outside following a springboard move on the top rope. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported the injury was legit and it is unknown if she will miss any time. Meltzer noted Sakazaki "gutted her way through the match but the injury did change things."

Sakazaki officially relocated to the United States earlier this year and she returned to All Elite Wrestling on the April 3 episode of Collision, defeating Trish Adora. Sakazaki also worked the Ring of Honor TV tapings on April 17.

Yuka Sakazaki has sporadically wrestled for All Elite Wrestling since the promotion's first show, Double or Nothing 2019. Sakazaki had been full-time with Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling until the end of March 2024 and she is a four-time Princess Tag Team Champion with Mizuki as the Magical Sugar Rabbits. Sakazaki is also a three-time Princess of Princess Champion.

All Elite Wrestling held their latest pay-per-view, Dynasty, on Sunday night. Full results can be found here.
