The latest episode of WWE NXT saw more wrestlers from TNA Wrestling cross the line into the NXT arena, with The Rascalz of Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz making a surprise appearance to give a pep talk to former member Wes Lee.
Whilst the three men previously tagged in TNA, Lee (fka Dezmond Xavier) and Wentz would sign with WWE NXT in late 2020 as MSK, with Wentz becoming Nash Carter in the process. Carter was later released by WWE in 2022 amidst allegations of domestic abuse, whilst politically and racially insensitive photos of Carter were also released online.
Since the TNA crossovers with NXT went into full throttle, rumours have abounded as to whom could appear on the black and gold brand, with Fightful Select noting in June that the possibility of Zachary Wentz returning to NXT was ‘possible’ as WWE’s stance on him had softened ‘well over a year ago’.
On NXT, Wes Lee cut an impassioned promo stating his intentions to walk away from NXT after his loss to NXT North American Champion Oba Femi at Heatwave on July 7, prompting Miguel and Wentz to come out and tell him how proud they are of him. Wentz was greeted with ‘welcome back’ chants from the NXT audience during the segment.
