Chris Nowinski Praises AEW Referee For Ending Match After Hangman Page Concussion

Hangman Page’s AEW World Title match with Jon Moxley was stopped after suffering a concussion

Hangman Adam Page is out of action after suffering a concussion during a scary moment on the October 18 edition of AEW Dynamite, with Hangman landing awkwardly after a strong lariat from Jon Moxley.

Referee Paul Turner immediately realised something was up and called off the match, allowing AEW ringside staff to check on Page and stretcher him backstage. Page was later discharged from a Cincinnati trauma centre but will remain in AEW’s concussion protocol, and former WWE star and noted concussion specialist Dr. Chris Nowinski took to Twitter to praise Paul Turner and Dr. Michael Sampson for their handling of the situation:

“Sending positive thoughts to Hangman. This was not a high risk move. Something went wrong. Ref Paul Turner is trained to recognize a #concussion or a possible neck injury & stopped match. @DocSampson13 was ringside & there in seconds, gives us the best chance for a good outcome.”

Nowinski continued: “Paul Turner handle @RefTurnerAEW. He was not scared to potentially end a main event match by calling in the doc. Let him how [know] much you appreciate him keeping talent safe.”

Page himself later took to Twitter to update fans on his condition.
