Gran Metalik Will Take On Champion Santos Escobar On January 6…
As seen on last night’s NXT, Raw roster member Gran Metalik will take on NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar at NXT New Year’s Evil.
The Cruiserweight Champion decried that GM William Regal can’t find any competitors who belong in the ring with him, before declaring Legado Del Fantasma the leaders of lucha libre. This lead to Lucha House Party's Metalik & Lince Dorado making their way ringside to confront Legado Del Fantasma.
Metalik & Dorado then defeated Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde in tag action, before Metalik officially declared his interest in the Cruiserweight Title.
The January 6 show will be NXT’s first of 2021, and is going head-to-head with night one of AEW’s rescheduled New Year’s Smash edition of Dynamite.
NXT are understandably stacking the card, and also announced on last night’s show that Xia Li and Boa will be returning at New Year’s Evil.
