Dakota Kai Injured

Dakota Kai is dealing with an injury, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. 

"Remember on Monday we were talking about Seth and Dakota? It was done for injury reasons...I don't know how serious. I asked if those were storyline covers for injuries and I was told they both were," Meltzer said.

Dakota Kai was scheduled to take on Sonya Deville on the post-SummerSlam edition of Monday Night Raw and the match had been advertised for the show. Dakota Kai was taken out backstage by Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler before the match, however. IYO SKY took Kai's place, ultimately picking up the win over Deville.

The nature of Dakota Kai's injury is unknown. Seth Rollins, meanwhile, has reportedly been written off TV with the Bronson Reed attack as the former World Heavyweight Champion is banged up. 

Dakota Kai hasn't wrestled since WWE's house show tour in Japan, with her most recent match being a tag team win with IYO SKY against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill on July 27. 

Dakota Kai was previously out of action for 10 months between May 2023 and March 2024 due to a torn ACL.
