Drew McIntyre Needed 16 Stitches Following Hell In A Cell Match

Drew McIntyre suffered a nasty wound at Bad Blood 2024

Drew McIntyre and CM Punk painted the town red last night during their Hell In A Cell match at the Bad Blood 2024 premium live event, going to war in a Cell match which saw both men spewing blood and leaving pools of it all over the mat. McIntyre was busted open when Punk nailed him with a toolbox in the head, leading to him gushing blood. At first, the sheer amount of blood and the bright red colour made it appear to be some sort of blood pack, but as the match progressed, it was clear that the wound kept getting reopened and was real.

PWInsider have reported that Drew McIntyre was legit busted wide open by the toolbox shot, and that he suffered a laceration which needed 16 staples to close it up. It is noted that McIntyre was “banged up”, but was mostly fine apart from the staples.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also confirmed this, stating that he was told that McIntyre was fine but required 16 staples.

Punk & McIntyre battled for over 30 minutes in the opening match at Bad Blood, which ended when Punk hit McIntyre with a GTS, wrapping his knee in a chain.
