EXCLUSIVE: MJF Says AEW Being Where The Best Wrestle Isn't Just A Catchphrase, It's The Truth

"I don't want to say Will Ospreay, but some people like him."

During our recent sit-down interview with MJF, the AEW American Champion explained that for all his inflammatory words regarding fellow roster members, he does believe AEW to be the best promotion around. He stated:

"Look, I talk a lot of sh*t. It’s what I do, but at the end of the day I don’t think ‘Where the Best Wrestle’ is just a catchphrase. I think its the truth. I think we have just an insane amount of talent bell to bell. On the microphone, a different discussion. I think that’s why I stand out more than everybody else because everybody else sounds like a bumbling idiot, with all due respect.

"When you look at our roster, Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, MJF, Okada, Malakai Black, Brody King, Jesus Christ I’m excited for Will Hobbs to come back when he’s healthy. I don’t want to say Will Ospreay but some people like him. Kyle Fletcher just proved a point I feel. Daniel Garcia, I think he’s dead but he seemed like he was okay at wrestling. It’s unfortunate that Will wouldn’t help him in that situation, it’s just really sad.

"But yeah, we have some incredible talent and I’m sure I’m going to get sh*t for not mentioning every single person and they’re going to be, like ‘Why didn’t you say me?’ I’m sure Christian Cage is going to send me a text - so Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, The Acclaimed, The Young Bucks, should I just sit here and name the whole roster?"

MJF recently appeared at London-based promotion RevPro where he successfully defended the AEW American Title against Michael Oku, thereby confirming that the belt will be on the line when he again faces Will Ospreay. Their rematch is set to take place at Wembley Stadium, as part of AEW's All In pay-per-view on August 25.

Just before Cultaholic's interview with MJF could end, he proceeded to cut a promo on Will Ospreay, saying:

"August 25th, Will Ospreay, I'm going to f*cking decimate you in front of your crooked teeth countrymen. I am going to prove that there's only one man in professional wrestling that deserves to hold the American Championship and that is the American hero Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Will Ospreay, you're a hell of a talent but you don't have what it takes to beat me because you lack a killer instinct, you refuse to hit the Tiger Driver '91 because you're a f*cking Nancy boy...You’re a f*cking Nancy boy and you're going to lose on August 25th in front of a packed-out house in Wembley Stadium. And I'm going to prove once and for all that when people say 'best in the world' there should only be one name synonymous with that phrase and that's Maxwell Jacob Friedman. And for that bit of information Will Ospreay, you can thank me later."

Elsewhere in the interview, MJF addressed his backstage confrontation with Britt Baker, revealed he isn't 100 per cent following his return, and confirmed he wants a match with Shane McMahon
