Jesse Ventura Not Surprised By Hulk Hogan's Support Of Donald Trump

Ventura is still dismayed over Hogan foiling his union plans.

Hulk Hogan made his political leanings clear when he spoke at the Republican National Convention on July 18, pledging his allegiance to party nominee Donald Trump with an impassioned pro-wrestling style promo.

Jesse Ventura - who as the former Governor of Minnesota is no stranger to US politics - isn't surprised by The Hulkster's endorsement.

Speaking on MSNBC, 'The Body' noted that Hogan successfully thwarted his attempts to unionise the WWE locker room, saying:

"As far as Hogan goes, it doesn't surprise me because when I was in wrestling in the 80's, I tried to unionise wrestling, and it was Hulk Hogan who cut my legs out from under me. Hulk Hogan went to Vince McMahon, ratted me out, and subsequently, later on, cost me my job. So it doesn't surprise me to see Hogan with the Republicans because Hogan is as anti-union as you can get. There still is not a union in professional wrestling. The reason I tried to do it. I was in an elevator and ran into Gene Upshaw, the great tackle guard from the Oakland Ravens. And big Gene raised his finger up and looked at me and says, 'You guys, you boys, need to form a union'. I tried to do it, and it was Hulk Hogan who ratted me out to Vince McMahon, and subsequently I was fired and lost my job".

As well as Hogan, Ventura had a notoriously fractious relationship with Vince McMahon after successfully suing WWE over unpaid royalties.

With McMahon now out of the picture, the 73-year-old WWE Hall of Famer is open to working with the company and is reportedly in talks over a Legends deal. Ventura was backstage at the July 29 Raw taping, where he took pictures with CM Punk, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque and others.
