Jon Moxley Rumoured To Return To Action At The WRLD On GCW

Moxley has been out of action since late 2020 to treat alcohol dependency issues

After entering an inpatient alcohol treatment clinic in early November 2020, fans have clamoured for the in-ring return of former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, but recent rumours are suggesting that Moxley could return to action for GCW at the end of January.

Moxley is the current reigning GCW World Champion, having defeated Matt Cardona in September 2020, and with GCW’s biggest show to date - The WRLD On GCW - set for January 23 in front of a sold out New York Hammerstein Ballroom, many hoped Mox would be in a position where he could defend the title on the show.

Speculation has only ramped up over the weekend, after former ROH World Champion and indie wrestling legend Homicide won the Do Or Die battle royal at GCW’s recent Die 4 This show, winning a shot at Moxley’s title 'at a future date'.

Neither GCW nor Moxley have confirmed whether Mox will be wrestling Homicide at The WRLD On GCW, but if GCW are putting plans in place regarding the GCW World Championship, it suggests that Moxley’s return is being discussed, just whether it happens on January 23 or not remains to be seen.
