Pat McAfee Missed WWE Raw Following Passing Of Father-In-Law

Why Pat McAfee was absent from WWE Raw

Following reports that Pat McAfee missed Monday Night Raw due to a "last-second family emergency", the WWE commentator announced on the Pat McAfee Show that he was absent from Monday night's taping after his father-in-law passed away unexpectedly.

McAfee noted that his wife's father had been in hospital battling an infection and the announcer received a call following the Pat McAfee Show on Monday telling him he had to get to the hospital immediately.

McAfee added: "Tell your people you love them. You literally have no idea what's gonna come. It can literally be the last time you see somebody any time you see them."

McAfee has been a part of WWE for several years and he returned to the announce table full-time earlier this year as the colour commentator on Raw alongside Michael Cole. McAfee and Cole previously had a popular partnership on Friday Night SmackDown from April 2021 until September 2022 when McAfee stepped away from the commentary desk to be a pundit on ESPN's College GameDay.

McAfee has found himself caught up with the Wyatt Sicks over the past week since the group's debut and Nikki Cross delivered a VHS tape to Michael Cole that was addressed to McAfee on Monday's Raw.
