Christian Cage has cemented himself as one of the best talents on All Elite Wrestling TV as 2023 has progressed, having fully played into his love of widows and penchant for feuding with wrestlers who have dead fathers.
The gimmick began back in June 2022 on an episode of AEW Dynamite where Christian explained why he turned on Jack Perry, explaining he had never forgiven the then-Jungle Boy for eliminating him from the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing 2021. After a rant about this and at the fans, though, Christian turned to the real meat of the promo in which he shockingly brought up Jungle Boy's deceased father Luke Perry, uttering the words, "Your father is dead."
The promo, which took place in front of Luke Perry's wife and daughter, drew audible gasps from those in attendance and has cemented itself as one of the most iconic promos in AEW's short history.
