Report: Konnan Recovering At Home Following Heart Surgery

Best wishes to Konnan

Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer has reported that Konnan is recovering at home after undergoing heart surgery.

The Mexican wrestling legend was said to have been hospitalised on Thursday, January 13 after he experienced pain in his chest.

The 58-year-old originally thought the pain stemmed from fractured ribs he suffered in June of 2021 during an AEW Dynamite spot with FTR but that turned out not to be the case. Konnan was then in hospital for six days and returned home following the surgery.

Alfonso Lizarraga of The Gladiatores noted Konnan required surgery due to complications with COVID-19. The former LAX manager previously contracted coronavirus in February of 2021 and was hospitalised as he believed his life was in danger. Konnan was also dealing with a serious kidney issue at the time.

While no longer an in-ring performer, Konnan currently appears in MLW as the manager of 5150. He also works behind the scenes in AAA.

Everyone at Cultaholic Wrestling would like to send their best wishes to Konnan as he recovers from heart surgery.
