Report: NJPW Have No Further Plans For Chris Dickinson
No more Chris Dickinson in NJPW it seems
Chris Dickinson is seemingly finished with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
According to Super J-Cast, NJPW have no further plans to use the 35-year-old.
"NJPW have no plans to use Chris Dickinson moving forward, per multiple sources," Super J-Cast tweeted.
Dickinson signed a per-appearance deal with NJPW in April of 2022 but allegations of domestic abuse were made against him by two former girlfriends soon after. Dickinson was booked by NJPW after the allegations were made public and he faced Hiroshi Tanahashi on May 15. He was not booked again until the NJPW STRONG Fighting Spirit Unleashed taping in August.
The August appearance came after Dickinson filed a lawsuit against his former girlfriends, claiming they had committed "blatant acts of defamation." Dickinson then competed at NJPW's Autumn Action tapings in September, challenging Fred Rosser for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship. Their match, which ended in a double count-out, aired over the weekend.
Dickinson was absent from the New Japan Showdown taping on Sunday, though, which fuelled speculation about his future with the promotion.
