Report: Shotzi Dealing With Legitimate Injury

Shotzi's injury is not kayfabe in nature

The injury that WWE star Shotzi is currently out with is legitimate, according to a new report.

PWInsider noted: "For those who have asked about Shotzi's hand injury, we are told that there was a legitimate injury issue that led to the angle on SmackDown last week".

Ahead of the December 9 episode of SmackDown, a WWE.com digital exclusive showed Shotzi being attacked by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, which included Shotzi having her hand slammed in a car door.

Shotzi's scheduled singles match with Baszler for that night's show was cancelled as a result, with Baszler and Rousey teaming up to take on Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox instead.

The former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion then took to Twitter to post a picture of an x-ray of her hand alongside the caption '6 weeks', suggesting she will be out until early 2023.

Shotzi last competed at a non-televised live event on November 27 (one night after her loss to Rousey in a SmackDown Women's Championship match at Survivor Series).

If her timeline is accurate, Shotzi will be hopeful of being back in time for the Royal Rumble on January 28.
